Our minds have 150,000 thoughts a day, from the second you wake up, to the second you go to bed. Anything you visualize will materialize. The thing is is that people don’t know that our minds have a default. Or you go and knock on doors and people say, “I’m glad you came by”. How do you feel when you visualize yourself already accomplishing your goal? You made a phone call, and someone was glad that you called them. I’ll give her a quick call and tell her that you are coming over.” She’s fun, and you guys will have a hoot. “You know what?”she says, “Go talk to my neighbor across the street, Barbara. She hits you on the shoulder as she says “Oh, you’re so funny.” Before you leave, you ask, “Do you know anybody in the neighborhood who, just like you, wants to save money?” “I’m glad I stopped by because I was going to skip over your house, but something told me deep inside to stop by.” You joke. We’re excited to start with your company.” She gets her check book, fills it out and says “Thankyou for stopping by. “No, you get to pay.” you say, using your wit. In the end, you don’t have to ask her for a check. I just need your address so I can drop off the can.” And she gives you her address. You are saying, “Your house, your family” and you’re referencing the neighbors you sold yesterday, and you are telling them, “We’re not starting right away, we’re starting next month.” You are showing them the paper work. You do your sales approach, and she’s laughing at all your jokes, you are having a good time. You are going through all the steps she’s asking questions and you’re asking questions, because you’re making it a conversation, not a presentation. You knock on their door the lady of the house comes. You can see which company they are with, so you know that there is going to be a sale. You look over, and you see their trash cans. You’re excited, because you know that they are home. You see that the glass door is closed, but the wooden door is open. You think,“This family is going to buy my product. So you see a house, and you see that the garage door is open, there’s a minivan that is there and there are some bikes in the yard. And I just love it!” You are walking down the street, and you’re not going to knock on the first door that you see because you learn the importance of cherry picking. I love my job people are going to be so excited to talk to me. You got up this morning, you read some motivational books you practiced your approach, and you are in the zone! Maybe you listen to one of Josh’s motivational moments and you are on fire! You say to yourself, “today is going to be a great day. It is such a beautiful day! You’re excited because you just had a great meeting. Pretend that you get to your area, you hop out of your car and you walk through the area. Everybody in the team closes their eyes. Then one person in the room walks them through getting a sale. At the end of our meeting, we all get a sale together in the office. We’ve been doing this with my door-to-door marketing team. I want to give a tactic that top performers do in sales, leadership, and business. The first group that practiced, their ability to sink the ball at the line increased by 10%.The second group who didn’t practice, went down 20%.And finally, the third group that visualized themselves succeeding increased by 30%! And they weren’t even practicing basketball! They had increased their ability to sink it at the free throw by 30% all because they learned the importance of visualization! Once they started practicing again as a team, there was a difference in the players abilities. They were 30 minutes a day, in a quiet place, visualizing themselves standing at the line and shooting the ball. For 30 minutes each day for 30 days, that’s all they did. They had to find somewhere quiet, to their room, close the door and just sit and imagine themselves shooting the ball. (Obviously this wasn’t during basketball season, this was the off season). The third group had to visualize themselves shooting hoops. The second part of the team did was do nothing They did not practice basketball at all. Group number one’s objective was to practice shooting free throws for 30 minutes a day. There is a High School basketball team whose coach had a unique strategy he did a 30 day test. That which we visualize will materialize. If you have a dream car, visualize what year it is, what’s the model? What color is it? Having that all in detail will dramatically increase your ability to be successful. The more detail you can visualize the better. Visualize that you are already enjoying the fruits of your labor, the car you want to drive, living in the house you want doing this is very very powerful. One of the most important things you can do is visualize that you have already accomplished your goal.
